Dear Piedmont Players Theatre Members,

Our Annual Meeting for PPT Members will be held via Zoom on Monday, September 13th at 7:30 p.m.

Due to the continued rise in Covid-19 cases in our area, our annual meeting will again have to operate under the Zoom format that we used last year. We are eager to share exciting news about our new seasons and new staff searches, including the announcement of our new Managing Director!

Another important task of this meeting is the election of two new Board of Governors members for the 2021-2022 fiscal year. Normally, at the annual meeting, the Board presents a slate recommended by the nominating committee, and individual PPT members are also allowed to make nominations “from the floor.” However, as this will not be a live, in-person meeting, nominations “from the floor” need to proceed in a different manner as established last year. Therefore, we are asking the following:

If you would like to nominate someone for a seat on the PPT Board of Governors, please send that nomination in writing to amy.prater@piedmontplayers.com BY NOON ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2021. Please include contact information for your nominee (email is preferred) so that we may contact the nominee before the meeting to verify their willingness to serve. We will also interview every nominee about their association with PPT and their desire to be on the Board, so that we can present a statement at the meeting that accurately reflects each nominee’s qualifications.

Any regular member in good standing is eligible to serve on the Board of Governors, with the following exceptions: No spouse of a Board member shall serve concurrently on the Board, nor shall any relative of a professional director serve on the Board of Governors. Board terms are 3 years. We are a working board; more is expected of Board members than simply attending monthly meetings. Nominees should be willing to perform such tasks as volunteering as house managers or backstage workers, helping to build sets, reading scripts and helping to choose plays for the Meroney and Norvell seasons, assisting at functions such as the Night on the Stage fundraiser and Opening Night Receptions, helping in the planning of events such as youth camps and workshops, and assisting in selling playbill advertising and doing other fundraising for the organization. Nominations for the 2021-22 Board will be closed at noon on Friday 9/10/21.

Also, so that we can set up the Zoom meeting for Monday the 13th and verify each attendee’s membership, please be sure that you send your RSVP to cam.hall@piedmontplayers.com BY MIDNIGHT ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2021. We will send the Zoom link and meeting agenda to all verified attendees around noon on Monday (the day of the meeting) as well as instructions for logging in to the meeting. We regret that we will not be able to allow non-registered participants to join the meeting on Monday.

Thank you for your continued support of Piedmont Players.
