Meet the Cast & Crew

Asha Brown (Leanne/Ginny/Helga/Frenchy) is thrilled to be in her second production on the Meroney Stage, following her star turn this summer in Bye Bye Birdie. She has volunteered with Piedmont Players as a sound technician for Kinky Boots and The SpongeBob Musical. She is also a Board Member of PPT. Asha has a BFA in Directing from Temple University’s School of Theater, Film and Media Arts. While she has focused her time in recent years working on film and video productions Asha is eager to return to her first love, theater!

Corina Childs (Megan Jones) appears in her third show with Piedmont Players after just wrapping up Rent and Bye Bye Birdie. She has been seen all over Charlotte in many productions such as Sister Act with Matthew’s Playhouse, and multiple shows with Central Piedmont Arts. As well as being a part of the resident tour with Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, where she got to bring the magic of theatre and kindness to thousands of kids. She’s also excited to be sharing the stage with her fiancé Daniel Keith. She sends her love and praise to her family and friends who push her to take risks and support her, as well as the Puffs cast and crew who continue to create such fun and safe space to grow as a performer. She is eternally grateful to be able to share this experience with such an amazing group of people.

Sava Cook (Blondo Malfoy/Jim Buddy) is making his PPT debut. He loves kind people, fanny packs, mismatching socks, and the gentle breeze that happens right before it snows. Olive Garden Leviosahhhhhhh!

Nick Culp (Narrator) is excited to be sharing the stage with this hilarious cast and pulling all the strings as The Narrator for this performance! No stranger to narrating things at PPT, Nick was last seen offering commentary as Mark Cohen in Rent. Or maybe you saw him narrating his memoir last year as Monty in A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder. Other recent PPT credits include Kinky Boots (Charlie Price), Heathers (Heather Chandler) and [title of show] (Hunter). Other local credits include Uwharrie Players' Bright Star (Jimmy Ray), Lee Street Theatre’s The Play That Goes Wrong (Robert/Thomas Colleymoore) and Lexington Live’s Into the Woods (Baker). Recent professional credits include The Rocky Horror Show (Columbia) and The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical (Rufus) at Actor's Theatre of Charlotte. When he's not onstage, Nick works as a Senior Elections Specialist for the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections. Nick sends endless thanks to Jenn for this opportunity and his family for their support.

Brayden Daugherty (Sally Perks/Harry/Myrtle/etc) is very excited to be a part of this hilarious show, and very glad to get the opportunity to perform alongside all of these talented artists! He’s no stranger to the stage, in fact, you might have seen him a few months ago in Rent (PPT), or in The Mousetrap (LST). He’s so glad you’re here and wants to thank anyone who’s taking the time to read his bio! He would also like to thank his brother Bryson for being at every show! One last thing — he hopes you enjoy the show and have a happy holiday season!

Jonathan M Ewart (J. Finch Fletchley/Uncle Dave/Goyle/etc) is so happy to be back on stage at PPT! He was last seen this past summer as the TEENAGER Harvey Johnson in Bye Bye Birdie. Favorite shows have included Disaster: The Musical, Benedictions, Corpus Christie and The Odd Couple to name a few. He is also the founder and artistic director of the Living Room Reading Series in Concord, which he has produced over 60 readings, most being regional and state premieres. He directed Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr and The Savannah Sipping Society for PPT. Love to Jenn - wonderful working with you again after so many years, the Cast, Crew, Bradley, Cam, and you the audience who supports PPT. His performance as always is dedicated the memory of his father, mother, brother and sister..and hope they are enjoying Jonathan on stage doing what he loves the most!

Caroline Forrester (Stage Manager/Dance Captain) is a Catawba College graduate. Having studied theatre, she has worked both on and off stage. Most recently, she played Nancy in Bye Bye Birdie at Piedmont Players Theatre and Alexis Darling, among others, in Rent. Some of her favorite roles include Nicola in Kinky Boots (PPT), Veronica Sawyer in Heathers (PPT), Rizzo in Grease (LST), and Medium Alison Bechdel in Fun Home (LST). She is thrilled to be a part of this hilarious show and to work alongside some of her favorite people. A special thank you to Bradley for all the things, and to Tara Melton and Colleen Smiley for their constant support. And Jennifer Quigley for being incredible.

Maxwell Greger (Wayne Hopkins) is thrilled to be doing his first show with Piedmont Players! He has had the best time working on this hilariously funny and fantastic show and also getting to work with such a wonderfully talented cast. Maxwell has been acting for six years. Other shows you may have seen him in are Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as Dr. Langdon with Free Reign Theater Company, The German Student with Post Mortem Players, and The Play That Goes Wrong as Jonathan/Charles Haversham with Lee Street Theater.

Daniel Keith (Cedric/Mr. Voldy) appears in his third show with Piedmont Players, he was most recently in the smash hit Rent, as well as Bye Bye Birdie. He resides in Charlotte, where he has performed in Guys and Dolls, Sister Act, The Diary of Anne Frank, You Can’t Take It With You and more. He is stoked to have the opportunity to be a part of such a unique and hilarious show and is always excited to be performing with his fiancé, Corina Childs, and wants to send her all of his gratitude for being his biggest support system and to the entire Puffs cast and crew for their creativity and collaboration. “THIRD OR NOTHING!”

Peter Liuzzo (Oliver Rivers) is thrilled to be back with Piedmont Players and to perform with this incredible cast and crew of PUFFS. You may have seen him recently as Roger in Rent for two special performances here at Piedmont Players. His favorite credits include Gabe Goodman in Next To Normal with Fort Mill Playhouse, Charlie Price in Kinky Boots with Queen City Concerts and Jamie Wellerstein in The Last Five Years at TheatreNOW in Wilmington NC. Peter performed in many shows in and around the Charlotte area such as Phantom of the Opera (CPCC), Les Miserables (Piedmont Players), 42nd Street (Davidson Community Players) and many more. Jonathan Lodgek (Ernie Mac/A Very Tall Man/A Certain Potions Teacher/etc) is a graduate from Catawba College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance. He has been in multiple operas including Rigoletto, Turandot, and La Boheme. He was born in Statesville. He was last seen at PPT in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder and his unforgettable turns as The Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Caro, Don in Kinky Boots, and Harry MacAfee in Bye Bye Birdie.

Aidan Melton (Assistant Stage Manager) has performed in several shows with PPT, a few of his favorites are Kinky Boots as The Apprentice, A Christmas Carol as Young Scrooge, The Sound of Music as Friedrich, Ragtime as The Little Boy, The Spongebob Musical as Squidward, Into the Woods Jr. as the Narrator, Mary Poppins, Jr. as Bert, and The Lion King Jr. as Pumbaa. When Aidan is not on stage performing he loves swimming, kayaking, playing video games, and spending time with his family. Aidan is really excited about working with this amazing cast. A special thank you to Bradley Moore, Jennifer Quigley, and the board of Piedmont Players Theater for this fantastic opportunity.

Bradley Moore (Artistic Director/Choreographer/Props Artisan) has spent most of his life working professionally in theatre and the music business. A Maryland native, he did his undergrad at Winthrop University, where he also recently received his master’s in Arts Administration. Bradley spent the last 17 years as a Nashville resident and worked on the road as a Tour Manager and Production Coordinator for LeAnn Rimes, Jessica Simpson, India Arie, among others. His work with these artists allowed him to travel all over the world including Europe, Japan, & Africa. Getting back to his theatre roots, in 2009 he started Music City Theatre Company in Nashville. Bradley is the recipient of the Broadway World Award for Best Director of a Musical for the regional premiere of American Idiot (2016) & the First Night Award for Best Director of a Musical for the regional premiere of Mamma Mia! (2018). Other directing credits include: Sister Act, the regional premiere of Freaky Friday: The Musical, the Tennessee premiere of Matilda, Peter & The Starcatcher, & August: Osage County. He has worked with many theatres up and down the East Coast including Studio Tenn, Expression City, Chaffin’s Barn, where he spent time as the Assistant Artistic Director, and Cumberland County Playhouse in East Tennessee. Bradley is also an actor, having performed in over 120 productions in his lifetime, and a playwright who is the author/co-author of several original musicals, including the Broadway World Award winning Casey Stampfield: The Musical and last season’s new adaptation of A Christmas Carol. Since working at PPT, Bradley has directed Ragtime, [title of show], Legally Blonde, The Sound of Music, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder, A Christmas Carol, Heathers, Kinky Boots, Bye Bye Birdie, and Rent. He was recently nominated for five Metrolina Theatre Association Awards for his work last season at PPT. Big thanks to Cam, John V, Jennifer, Caroline, Angel, Beth, Tara, Colleen S., and Aidan for everything! To the masterful Jennifer Quigley — you are simply the best! So proud of you. And to the cast — you are an amazingly talented bunch of wizards. Kill it!

Manisha Parekh (Susie Bones/Hermeeone #2/Bippy) is excited to be making her debut on the Meroney Theater stage. Recent credits include Legally Blonde (Padamadan/Carlos/Ensemble) with Lee Street Theatre; 110 Stories (Merlin Durhman) with Old Courthouse Theatre; and Rock of Ages (Featured Dancer/Ensemble) with Hickory Community Theatre. She would like to thank Jennifer, Caroline, and the entire cast for making the show such a blast to work on. Big thanks to Jim for all his love and support (as usual) and to Ian and Devin for not complaining too much about Mom using all the funny accents.

Jenn Quigley (Director) has been directing, producing, and acting in and around the Charlotte community for more than 20 years. Jenn’s training took place at Winthrop University where she received her theatre degree as well as her Masters in Arts Administration. After taking a 6 year hiatus, Jenn is thrilled to be back in the theatre bringing Puffs to the stage. Puffs marks Jenn’s first production with PPT, but not her last, as she will be back on stage next month in POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying To Keep Him Alive. A million thanks to Cam, John V, Angel, Tara, Colleen S, Beth, and Jennifer! A million more thanks to Bradley for inviting me on this journey and bringing me back to the theatre. Puffs is for everyone who has felt like they weren’t the main character in their own story, for the underdogs, and for those who are loyal and true.

Mari Scronce (Hannah/First Headmaster/Professor McG/etc) is a traveling performer with the Renaissance Festival who has landed in Salisbury, NC for the winter, again. They can often be found creating; whether it is sculpting, performing, or sewing, Maris' goal is to continually bring new art into the world. This is their second performance with PPT after last year’s turn as The Ghost of Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol: A New Musical Comedy. They want to thank their loving husband, TJ Scronce, and to the entire cast and crew for being so welcoming and encouraging through this wonderful process. Another thank you to Bradley Moore and Jennifer Quigley for the opportunity to perform with this wonderful theater.
