Jonita Powell M’Lynn

Dr. Jonita Powell is excited to be a part of the Piedmont Players’ Steel Magnolias. While this is her first time taking on a speaking role, she has always had a passion for the arts. According to Jonita, “Not only do actors bring life to the character, but the character brings life to the actor. ” She loves the personal development and growth this experience has brought her. Professionally, Jonita works as a technical writer and English professor. She also loves traveling, gardening, mentoring youth, and spending quality time with her husband and son. Jonita is grateful for their support during this new adventure with Steel Magnolias.
